Jennifer Balkcom is an eighth-generation Western North Carolinian who grew up on her family’s apple farm in Henderson County, where she learned the values of faith, family, hard work, and taking care of your neighbors.

Jennifer began her career in banking and finance in 1998 and has spent more than 25 years helping families and small businesses throughout Western North Carolina. Today, she is a Mortgage Loan Officer and Small-Business woman. She earned her Associate Degree in Business Administration, Banking and Finance from Blue Ridge Community College and has served on numerous community and nonprofit boards, including the Henderson County Education Foundation.

Jennifer represents Henderson County in the North Carolina House, where she has focused on issues affecting families, farmers, small businesses, education, and Western North Carolina.

She lives in Hendersonville with her family. For Jennifer, Western North Carolina isn’t just where she lives, it’s home. Her deep roots in these mountains continue to guide her commitment to serving the people and communities that raised her.
